Yep, the girl was from denmark and had done 8 to 10 very hard adult scenes by the time she did the starwars stuff. Not very good publicity for a pg-13 film. Editing her face would just have people ask the question, who is that girl? again, it would lead back to her porn films. Theres at least 6 to 8 missing scenes from the original trilogy. Two noteable ones, a sand storm in ROTJ after the Jabba Palace scene, and one in ESB with C-3PO re-directing imperial troops into a wampa containment hold.

This WHOLE scene was cut because the girl in the scene was doing porn, Lucas didn't want the publicity. This scene would have made the entire movie flow better. A better understanding of the war, the rebellion and the decisions Luke made. Shame.

The Academy is probably the only place to get training, and schooling. Plus an easy way to get off planet. Going to the Academy is only a foothold and then comes the draft. Although it does seem a bit odd to not draft first to the Academy. It could be that the Academy is a remnant of the Old Republic, if that's the case then a military draft might not fit with the institution. It's only after you're done with the schooling you end up being drafted. *shrugs*
